Virginia Beach Summer School

The school division's 2023 Summer School programming will offer opportunities for elementary, middle and high school levels.

The Virginia Beach School Board received information about proposed federal grant applications at its May 9 meeting. For the 2023-24 school year, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) would receive approximately $16.3 million in formula grant funds through programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Employment

All applicants must submit an employment application via www.vbschools.com and complete all required steps to become an employee of the Virginia Beach City Public School system. These steps are necessary for any employment opportunity at the Adult Learning Center.

Do you have expertise in a certain subject or field that you would like to share with the community at large? The Adult Learning Center is always in search of instructors with varied backgrounds and experiences to design courses that are timely, beneficial, and fun.

If you would like to submit a course for consideration, please complete a course proposal form, submit it to our Community Education Department and one of our program planners will contact you.

Please consult our course planning calendar before completing a course proposal form. Completed course proposal forms can be submitted to our Community Education Department by emailing alcinfo@vbschools.com, or by dropping them off at the ALC during regular business hours.
