Career and Community Education

There are multiple ways to register for Career and Community Education courses:

  1. Register Online - The Adult Learning Center is temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution due to the Coronavirus. All Community Education classes are postponed; online registration is not available. We will contact you about class date changes as we make them.
  1. In person - Come see us at the ALC, we'll be glad to help you get registered.
  2. Complete this form and either mail or fax it in along with your payment information.

English Language Acquisition (ELA)

ELA Classes are available for adult non-native speakers of English. Five levels of classes in reading, writing, speaking, and listening are held daily Monday through Friday or twice a week in the evening. New students must attend one of the entrance interview dates listed in the catalog. Students will be placed in the program based on class availability. If classes are full, students will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when openings occur.
(A valid, current, government issued picture ID and proof of residency are required)

GED®/Adult Basic Education

Register for PRE-GED®/ABE and Fast Track GED® classes by attending a placement evaluation to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). TABE scores determine which class students are placed in. Placement evaluation fee is $5 and takes 3 1/2 hours. First come, first served. (Maximum of 55 participants per test)
(A valid, current, government issued picture ID for proof of age and identity is required)
(Open to adults age 18 and older who are not enrolled in any high school. Testing begins on time. No exceptions.)
